American Cancer Society Team Captain Kick-Off

The American Cancer Society will hold its Team Captain Kick-off celebration for the 16th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk Run on Wednesday, July 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. Captains will have the opportunity to learn more about the American Cancer Society and how to form a team for the event. Walk Run promotional materials will also be available. In 2007, 2,528 men, women, and children participated in the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk Run. The event raised over $178,000 to support the lifesaving research, education, and early-detection programs that provide hope to breast cancer patients and their families. The Team Captain Kick-off is free of charge and open to anyone who is interested in forming a team for the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk Run, which will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 11, at Green Isle Park in Allouez.

EAA Christian Missions -bedrooms needed for missionaries

East Wisonsin's regional Mission Aviation Support Association (MASA) is preparing to host representatives of 18 or more organizations involved in Christian mission and aviation that will be exhibiting at the EAA Air Venture the last week of July. MASA will provide housing, meals, transportation, and speaking opportunities for missionary pilots and other staff workers coming from assignments located around the world. Many churches have been contacted to set up speaking engagements for the missionary pilots on Sunday, July 27 and August 3rd. Families are needed to provide no cost bedrooms for the missionaries while they are here.
